School, company join firefighter course

Nine teachers and staff from Pai Yuek School recently attended a three-day firefighter course organized by the Public Relations Division of the Fire and Rescue Service’s Operation “G” Branch. (FRD).

Participants learned about the importance of fire safety and conducted fire drill training at the school, aided by firefighters led by Bangar Fire Station Commandant SO Jamaluddin bin Ahmad.

They were briefed on what to do during a fire and evacuation, the proper use of a fire extinguisher and fire blanket, and how to save themselves when stuck in a building during a fire.

The participants also visited the Bangar fire station to familiarize themselves with the firefighting equipment.

The course concluded with a certificate presentation by SSFR Operation “G” Branch Commander Haji Afiq bin Haji Julah.

Meanwhile, 16 employees of Western Foods and Packaging Sdn Bhd recently attended a three-day firefighter course at its premises.

The course was organized by the Public Relations Division of the Operation “A” branch of the Fire and Rescue Service (FRD).

The participants also visited the Berakas fire station to familiarize themselves with the firefighting equipment.
