In-person and Virtual Cooking Classes with Flying Aprons Tucson: October 2021 Schedule


Tucson Flight Aprons worked hard to bring people together by bringing a part of Tucson’s vibrant dining scene to their home kitchens.

Each of the classes is taught by some of Tucson and Southern Arizona’s top cooking professionals, including restaurant chefs, personal chefs and bakers, all to represent the most creative and delicious recipes in the world. region.

Recently, Flying Aprons only offered online cooking classes, but now you have the option to choose in-person classes as well.

October cooking classes cost $ 75 each for in-person classes and $ 40 for virtual Zoom classes. You can also register now for one of the following courses.

Monday October 18 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The class “Tucson-Style Fall Comfort Foods with Saguaro Corners Chef / Partner CJ HammWill be in person and limited to 25 people. The course is also available on Zoom.

“We are ready for fall! Known for its comfort food with a touch of Tucson, Saguaro Corners CJ Hamm’s chef / partner menu will set you up for the season. There is also a treat: we will have the restaurant and bar to ourselves as they are normally closed on Mondays.

  • Virtually on Zoom
What is on the menu?
  • Roasted pork loin in cumin crust – with Local Bourbon Apple Juice, Yam Puree with Chipotle Honey, Braised Cabbage Leaves with Agave and Pumpkin Panna Cotta with Confit Lemon and Prickly Pear Coulis
  • A specialty whiskey cocktail, complementing the flavors, will be available for separate purchase

Monday October 25 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The class with a “Día de los Muertos celebration – Sugar skulls, cookies and Pan Muerto“, is face-to-face, and limited to 20 people.

“On November 2, deceased loved ones return and are greeted with ofrendas (offerings) on altars covered with sugar skulls, food, candles, photos and other items.”

  • La Estrella Bakery’s newest location at 901 N. Grande Ave.
What is on the menu?
  • Make a sugar skull in a mold that you will take home
  • Decorate a sugar skull, cookie
  • Pan muerto – light and soft sourdough bread with orange and anise.
  • Isabel Montaño, Jorge Franco and Erica Franco, children of the founders Marta and Antonio Franco, will share stories and history of Día de los Muertos, Sugar Skulls and Pan Muerto, and will guide you step by step in your decoration.

The “Cheese making: mozzarella, burrata and ricotta»The course is available on Zoom or face-to-face (limited to 20 people).
