181 employees graduated from Ashghal training programs


Officials and employees at the graduation ceremony of Ashghal’s first batch of graduates from its training programs.

Doha: Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ celebrated the first graduates of its training programs, in the presence of HE Dr. Eng Saad bin Ahmad Al Muhannadi, Chairman of Ashghal alongside several managers, business directors, directors assistants, section heads, and partners, in addition to graduates.

On this occasion, Eng Al Muhannadi said, “We are incredibly proud to train 181 graduate employees from the engineering and support departments.”

He added, “We have been able to double the number of outstanding and highly skilled Qatari employees over the past four years, and we look forward to seeing these executives as leaders in Ashghal and planning high-quality infrastructure there. ‘coming. We also value and appreciate the efforts and effective contributions of our partners to the success of the training programs.

The ceremony saw the graduation of 181 employees and engineers from “Ashghal” training programs. Over the past seven years, the Human Resources Department has inaugurated various specialized and certifying training programs to develop engineers and employees of multiple entities and universities.

Programs include; Leadership development, project management, succession, graduate development, administrative development, individual development and professional certification program for Qatari employees enrolled in the professional certification program.

Eng Yousef Al Emadi, Project Affairs Manager, expressed his joy at seeing Ashghal employees and engineers graduating. He pointed out that Ashghal’s most important strategic goals are to increase competent Qatari employees, develop their capabilities and skills through Ashghal’s development and training programs, as Ashghal’s role goes beyond beyond the construction of roads, bridges, drainage systems and government buildings.

Rashid Saeed Al Hajri, Acting Director of the Human Resources Department, said Ashghal is committed to the continuous development of human resources, conducting studies and setting high standards to determine the training programs needed, and develop appropriate training programs to ensure the best performance.

“The training programs are aimed at creating exceptionally competent Qatari cadres to take up leadership positions in Ashghal and implement the first pillar of Qatar Vision 2030, relating to human development, while achieving the goal of leadership in excellence in the implementation and management of efficient and sustainable infrastructure”, he added.

For his part, Shaikha Basahal, Head of Training and Organizational Development, said, “We are proud of the graduates and we believe in the importance of improving and developing human cadres. Ashghal has actively strived to achieve and contribute effectively by designing, preparing and implementing several specialized training programs lasting from 24 to 36 months.

“These programs have been carried out in cooperation with various universities, local and international training centers, including experts and consulting companies, because the training programs differ according to the employees, their employment level and their expertise. The number of training attendances in the year 2021 alone was 3,472 from different training methods such as in-house training, on-the-job training, supervised training, e-learning, work placement, etc. .

“The authority is always keen to keep up with technological development at all levels, especially when it comes to the development of human cadres. We ensure that our employees participate in international exhibitions, conferences and forums, to meet expectations and keep abreast of continuous development,” she added.
